So somebody loads something up the internet, generates the md5 sum for it, and puts the file + md5 sum up. You download it and generate your own md5 sum on your end and compare it to the official one.
If its the same, you downloaded the correct file and it diddnt get corrupted by connection issues/server problems/aliens:D. Good to know, but as it turns out I just needed to extract all the files seperatly and then run the installer(not combining the assets/images files like I did before) and then I start up xenonauts and it says x-division. Thanks for the help. Originally posted by:md5 sum is a key to check if the file you received is EXACTLY the same somebody else uploaded. Thanks for the help. I dont know what you did, but im pretty sure you messed up at some point. Extracting the files seperately is not the way to go. So for reference, this is what you do: 1. Check the md5 sums 2.

Have X-Division 0.99.4 main.part1, X-Division 0.99.4 main.part2 and X-Division 0.99.4 main.part3 in the same folder. Either open X-Division 0.99.4 main.part1 with WinRar or PeaZip 4.
Click on the X-Division 0.99.4.exe. Originally posted by:good to know, but as it turns out I just needed to extract all the files seperatly and then run the installer(not combining the assets/images files like I did before) and then I start up xenonauts and it says x-division.

Click on the X-Division 0.99.4.exe By extract I suppose I mean unzip, I used 7zip to extract('Extract Here.' Option) files to a temp folder I made, which then contained(once I`d extracted all of them) the X-Division 0.99.4 main.part1 X-Division 0.99.4 main.part2 and X-Division 0.99.4 main.part3, at which point i used the installer.

I did all of that (with the version 1.00) and I don't know why but some mods appear in the launcher and others don't,like Ambience Forest appearing but Ambience Sounds not appearing, and, what is more important, X Division not appearing. What could be the problem?
